Christmas Express back on track
A holiday tradition is back in Cowichan.
Thousands of twinkling lights adorn the 100-acre woods of the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre as the Christmas Express gets back on track for the holidays.
"Last year, the B.C. Forest Discovery Centre had over 9,500 visitors come out to see the light displays and ride the train," said BCFDC manager Anthony Bone.
Volunteers worked alongside staff to showcase buildings and artifacts and give the grounds that festive look.
Bone said the Christmas Express is the museum's largest fundraiser and is key the ongoing operation and maintenance of the collection of antique vehicles, and buildings.
The Christmas Express runs from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday to Sunday this weekend, and then the same hours from Dec. 14 until Dec. 23. For more, go to bcforestmuseum.com, or leave a phone message at 250-715-1113.
