Councillor recovering from heart surgery
Duncan Councillor Paul Fletcher is recovering from Monday’s quadruple heart-bypass surgery at a Seattle hospital, Mayor Phil Kent said.
“The surgery was successful and they had Paul standing this morning,” Kent said Tuesday. “He’s a lucky guy.”
Second-term councillor Fletcher, 57, was taken to Seattle hospital after suffering symptoms while returning from a Mexican vacation.
It was unknown when the Brentwood College School photography teacher will return home to Cowichan.
