Mill Bay ferry service returns
Ferry service between Mill Bay and Brentwood Bay re-opens today after a one-month hiatus.
BC Ferries had temporarily suspended the route after the MV Mill Bay was decommissioned. The run’s new vessel, the MV Klitsa, was subsequently made ready for her new route, and both terminals were upgraded to accommodate the larger ferry.
Work included replacing the Klitsa’s propulsion system, and installing new lifesaving appliances as well as a new sewage-holding tank on the vessel.
The ship’s navigation system was also upgraded.
