Red tide warning issued
Clams? Mussels? Oysters? Scallops?
Forget about it, at least for right now in many local waters.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has issued a red tide warning for the waters of Sansum Narrows, Satellite Channel and all of Saanich Inlet.
Until further notice harvesting of all bivalve molluscs in those areas is banned because of the threat of paralytic shellfish poisoning.
