Chemainus revitalization up for discussion

A vision for a new downtown Chemainus was presented to the community in the spring.

Feedback was collected. Ideas offered. Revisions made.

On Thursday, your guidance is wanted in order to make the next step.

North Cowichan is hosting an open house to present a draft of the Chemainus Town Centre Revitalization Plan.

According to the municipality, the public will get a chance to provide input into the locations of a new Chemainus library and community centre, as well as view plans for the waterfront and the benchlands immediately south of downtown.

Plans for trails and walkways will also be up for discussion.

The event will take place between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Chemainus Legion Hall, 9775 Chemainus Road.
