Cowichan Bay Road closure expected to continue at least until tonight
Flooding has closed Cowichan Bay Road until further notice between the highway and the lawn-tennis club corner.
Officials with government contractor Mainroad South-Island announced the closure Wednesday, adding Thursday the closure is effective until at least the evening of Jan. 5.
Drivers are urged to use the Bench Road detour to avoid swamping their vehicle, or potentially drowning along the perennially flooded road.
