Highways officials have again closed Cowichan Bay Road due to current flooding.

Mainroad South-Island Contracting ranked the closure as high after Wednesday after two days of rain and wind.

Cowichan Bay Road between the Island Highway and the lawn tennis club is notorious for flooding thanks to its low-lying nature.

Drivers who ignore the notice an use the soggy roadway could risk swamping their vehicle and having to be rescued by busy first responders.
