Two Cowichan schools vandalized during weekend break-ins
Two Cowichan campuses were vandalized during weekend break-ins, police say.
The first, at Cowichan Secondary School, was reported on Saturday. Unknown culprits broke into the school and smashed windows and hallway pictures.
The second, at Vancouver Island University's hair-dressing classroom trailer, was reported on Sunday evening shortly before 6 p.m.
"Once inside, culprit(s) smashed several Barbicide jars," Cpl. Kevin Day said in an email to media. "It's not yet been confirmed as to whether anything was stolen."
RCMP continue to investigate both break-ins and say it's unknown whether the two are connected.
Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment at 250-748-5522 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
