Shawnigan Lake School serves as luncheon hosts

The scene shifted to Shawnigan Lake School’s Marion Hall Sunday for the fifth-annual Cowichan News Leader Pictorial Youth Athlete of the Year luncheon.
Shawnigan Lake School supplied the venue and provided the meal for all the top 20 valley youth athletes, their families and invited guests.
The gathering was a who’s who of not only valley coaches and sports personalities, but there was plenty of island-wide representation.
People like John May travelled from Black Creek to see the track athletes he coaches honoured.
