Flooding closes Cowichan Bay Road, use alternate routes

Flooding on Cowichan Bay Road as highways contractors urging motorist to fund alternate routes to and from the bay.
Mainroad South Island Contracting Ltd. reported at around 1 p.m. Wednesday Cow Bay Road is shut from the Trans-Canada Highway to the intersection with Tzouhalem Road — at the lawn-tennis club — until further notice.

Cow Bay Road was resurfaced last year as officials grapple with drainage issues along the roadway marked with gates warning of flooding.
