Man taken to hospital after leg hit by piece of concrete decking
A local man is recovering in hospital after a piece of concrete decking landed on his ankle area, Duncan's fire chief says.
"The city administrator (Tom Ireland) heard the scream and called (first responders)," Mike McKinlay said of the accident at a residence under construction Friday near Philip Street, at around 11 a.m.
"A slab of concrete decking fell on his ankle area."
The man was taken by ambulance to Cowichan District Hospital in stable condition, chief McKinlay said.
The exact extent of the man's injuries was unknown by press time.
