Principal and vice-principal appointments announced

Restructuring has also brought corresponding administration shuffles at schools in District 79.

All administrative appointments are effective Aug. 1.

In the central zone, principal Charlie Coleman's team at the James Street campus of Cowichan Secondary School includes Jeff Rowan and Venessa MacDowell. Jaime Doyle takes over at the Quamichan campus on James Street, with another person under his tenure to be announced.

Fergus Horsburgh moves into a support role for both principal Kristi Clifton at Alexander Elementary and Darrell Wright at Khowhemun.

Updesh Cheema (Alex Aitken), Lenore Underhill (Maple Bay) and Joseph Boudreau (Tansor) all remain at their respective schools as principal. Karen Petersen is now the principal at Drinkwater Elementary, with Fiona Somerville as vice-principal.

Pedro Mengual will be the principal at Ecole Mount Prevost Elementary, joined by Ian Zibin as vice-principal.

In the south zone, Dave Dougan stays as Bench Elementary principal.

Lisa Page is the principal and Lisa LeClerc vice-principal at Ecole Cobble Hill, Chris Clark principal and Kristen Robinson vice-principal at George Bonner Elementary, Jan Bradley principal at Discovery and Marilyn Sandford continues to head Frances Kelsey Secondary as principal, with Heidi Grant and Lori Hryniuk as vice-principals.

Things are relatively unchanged in the north zone, with Rhonda MacDowell remaining principal at Crofton Elementary and Sian Peterson at Chemainus Secondary, with Mike Martin as vice-principal.

Brenda Stevenson joins Linda Porte to form the administration team at Chemainus Elementary.

In the west zone, Jann Drake becomes the principal at Palsson Elementary. Nicole Boucher and Dani Garner are staying on as principal and vice-principal, respectively, of the newly-named Lake Cowichan School.
