Knife- and hammer-wielding man charged after alleged assault in apartment
A knife- and hammer-wielding man, who allegedly attacked a woman last month in Duncan, has appeared in court.
Mark Clayton-Taylor, of Duncan is charged with two counts of uttering threats, and one count of assault with a weapon, after his Aug. 29 bust in a Duncan apartment, RCMP Cpl. Jon Stuart's release explains.
That's when North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP answered a complaint of someone banging on doors in the building.
"Police attended and located loud noises coming from one unit. The police attended to the unit and, after identifying themselves and being rebuked, heard a woman screaming she was going to be killed," Stuart says.
Police forced the door open, and found a man holding knife and a hammer.
"He was arrested without further incident after he dropped the weapons. An injured female was located inside the residence, and was taken to hospital," Stuart says.
