Man stabbed in argument at Dobson Road apartment
The victim of last week's stabbing at a Duncan apartment is recovering from multiple wounds, police say.
His alleged attacker, Miles Justin Boyles, 33, of Duncan has been charged and remains in custody, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Cpl. Jon Stuart says.
The alleged fracas began Oct. 9 at about 1:50 p.m. when RCMP received a 9-1-1 call that a male, in front of a Duncan apartment building on Dobson Road, was screaming that he had been stabbed.
Mounties attended and witnesses explained the victim had been driven by a friend to Cowichan District Hospital.
"He was located at the hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds," Stuart's release says. "The victim was air-lifted to Victoria General Hospital where he underwent surgery."
Shortly after the incident, the accused was located a few blocks from the scene.
Boyles has appeared in court. He is charged with one count of aggravated assault, and one count of assault with a weapon, Stuart says.
The suspect remains in custody, and investigation continues.
Police request folks with any information about this alleged crime, or any others, call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 — or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
