Rolls of paper lit on fire inside Khowheum School

A Friday afternoon fire at Khowhemun Elementary School is being deemed suspicious.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP received a request from the Duncan Fire Department to attend at the school after determining a fire there appeared to be deliberately set.

Police confirmed the findings.

There was minor damage where rolls of paper had been lit in a hallway.

No injuries were reported and, although the damage was minor, police are treating the matter seriously. The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP (250-748-5522) or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
