Prevost vet clinic's act of kindness touches local family
Dear editor
It is the smallest of gestures that have the greatest impact!
Recently, we had to euthanize our 14-year-old family dog who was more like one of the family than a mere pet. With the family gathered at his side, in his own home, Dr. Alan Longair administered the combination of medications that released our beautiful Rollo from the confines of his aging and ill body. Dr. Longair demonstrated a level of deep compassion that will resonate with each of us for years to come. As difficult as this task was, the staff at Prevost Vet Clinic treated this case with professionalism and empathy.
But that is not all.
A few days later, Rollo’s family received a beautiful condolence card in the mail from the staff at Prevost Vet Clinic. Along with a beautifully handwritten note, every member of the clinic had taken the time to sign the card — Rollo had been a patient at the clinic for almost all of his life. This small gesture has meant the world to us and has touched us deeply.
At a time in history where we have become all consumed with our day to day activities, those who take the time to enact random acts of kindness should make us pause and reflect and be thankful that human compassion is alive and well.
