Kestrels look good on the field
Cowichan Kestrels are off to a great start in Div. 3 of the Island Ladies’ Field Hockey Association.
The team improved its season record to two wins, one loss and a tie after blowing out the Victoria Lynx 7-0 Sunday at the Cowichan Sportsplex.
Sporting fancy new uniforms, the Kestrels looked as good as they played.
“The team is a good mix of new younger players and returning mature players,’’ noted Kestrels’ player Anne Smith.
Kyla Toljander led the scoring against the Lynx, who went without a goalkeeper, with two goals.
Smith, Sara Lowes, Terri Bachynski, Marina Ellison and Sophia Murray added single markers.
