T-Birds invite the elite

Cowichan Thunderbirds are hosting an elite invitational senior boys’ basketball tournament Thursday through Saturday.

The new year will start in fine style with eight teams set to tangle in intense action.

The host T-Birds will be joined by Harry Ainlay of Edmonton, Oak Bay, Sheldon Williams of Regina, Belmont, J.N. Burnett of Richmond, St. Michael’s University School and St. Mary’s.

Game action commences Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Cowichan opens against Harry Ainlay at 7 p.m.

The final will be played at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, with presentations to follow.
